Overview
Process
The Val d’Isère pilot program serves as Alpine X’s initial deployment to validate system performance, durability, and operational assumptions in a real high-altitude environment. Built around a first-of-kind MOF-based Direct Air Capture at Altitude system, the pilot moves beyond proof of concept into continuous operation. Data collected over time will inform material selection, system design, and control strategies, guiding the next phase of development already underway.
Projections
The pilot installation is located at the center of the Val d’Isère ski area, adjacent to the Olympic lift and the Face de Bellevarde. Positioning the first module in such a visible and highly trafficked location reflects the town’s commitment to climate leadership and public engagement. Designed as both an operational system and an educational reference point, the installation makes carbon removal tangible for residents and visitors while highlighting Val d’Isère’s role as a leading Alpine destination willing to host and advance emerging climate solutions.
